Edible Cocktails

Expect to see more than just a traditional old-fashioned in an old-fashioned glass with your dinner this year. Food plays a key role in the experience of drinking anything, and that applies especially when it’s alcohol.


As people have become more interested in where their food comes from, chefs and bartenders have started to experiment with cocktails made almost entirely out of raw ingredients rather than pre-mixed spirits. When they’re served as part of a meal, these “edible cocktails” take on a different meaning. Rather than being just another way to get drunk, they become the focal point of the entire experience.


And while some might think the idea is ridiculous or pretentious, there are many good reasons why we’ll be seeing more edible cocktails this year:
